What Is A Facial?

You've heard about them but what does a facial involve?

A facial includes a double cleansing, professional exfoliation, professional massage, masqueing, toning and moisturizing. And yes, product recommendations for your at-home regimen!

The BASIC STEPS:

  • Cleansing (2x)

  • Skin Analysis ~ with a skin magnification lamp

  • Exfoliation ~ usually while a steam vapor is directed at the face

  • Extraction of clogged pores, if it is suitable for your skin type

  • Facial massage to stimulate your skin and tone facial muscles

  • Masque, tailored to your unique skin type (dry, oily, combination, sensitive, mature etc.)

  • Application of toner, a spray mist or with cotton

  • ANTIOXIDANT, always

  • Moisturizer, Sunscreen, Eye Cream, Lip Balm

  • Advice on your current skin-care regimen

Aromatherapy is performed throughout the facial treatment. As well as various body massage. At Innovative Aesthetics, we have a state of the art 9-in-1 machine that also allows me to use electricity and micro-currents to stimulate the skin. I bring my services to a more exciting level by incorporating new techniques and styles to create a better experience for you.

How often should I get a facial?

It varies from person to person. Ideally, have a facial performed every 4 - 6 weeks. Our skin has a cell turnover (regeneration) rate between 28-40 days and as we get older this starts to slow down. Try to have a facial AT LEAST 4 times per year, as the season changes. You may need facials more frequently if you are fighting problematic skin.
